Half-way There
I had my usual cup of tea made by Eric
Breakfast
Porridge
cup of tea
Porridge = 8p
sugar = 1p.
Total = 9p
Lunch

Minestrone soup flat bread
|
Garlic bread
Cup of tea
The photo is deceptive, there seems to be only a tiny amount of soup but there was quite a lot, and I have put some in the fridge tomorrow.
1/2 carrot = approx. 6p.
Potato = approx. 5p.
Pasta sauce = 12p.
Celery = 10p.
1/2 stock cube = 2p.
Spaghetti = approx. 2p
= 37/2 = 19p
Garlic bread = 8p
Total = 27p.
Since the breads that I made previously, today I cut down the flour by an ounce, so the breads were thinner and smaller.
Dinner

fish cakes tomatoes and a cup of tea
|
Tomatoes .
Garlic bread
Cup of tea
Sardines = 40p.
Potatoes = 15p.
Tomatoes = 8p.
Garlic bread = 8p.
Total= 71p
I decided to make fish cakes with my 40p. can of sardines, so I used 20p. for potatoes leaving me with a grand total of 4p to carry over to next week.
Total = 5p.
Total daily expenditure = 1.12p
Today I was 12p. over my daily budget, as soon as you start to introduce meat or fish into the diet, the price shoots up making it very difficult to have a truly healthy diet on £1 a day.
