Getting Fed Up
This morning I woke up at 5.30, but I can't say I was aware of being hungry, so it might just have been the light mornings. I had my usual cup of tea then, and lay in bed reading

Porridge

This morning I really fancied some buttered toast, but since I had neither bread nor any form of spread that was a definite no, no. I couldn't finish my porridge, so I might need to adjust the amount of porridge to a smaller amount. I am finding portions size hard to gauge as my appetite seemed to vary from day to day.
Porridge = 8p.
Sugar = 1p.
Total = 9p.
1/2 pizza
Tea
For lunch I had what remained of last night's pizza.
Total pizza = 30p.

chick pea tagine and a cup of tea

For dinner I have had a chick pea tagine, I have used up all my supply of chick peas, and finished what was left of last weeks tomatoes. Although I couldn't manage to afford all the ingredients for an authentic tagine, I was still able to make a fairly authentic tasting tagine, with what I had to hand. I missed having my cous cous with it, but luckily enough I like rice, so it wasn't too bad.
Chick peas = 10p.
Tomatoes = 8p.
Spices = approx. 10p.
Onion = approx 5p.
1/2 stock cube = 2p.
Rice = 6p.
Total = 41p.
Tea = 5p.
Total = 5p.
Total expenditure 85p.
I am glad I committed myself to this on Facebook, otherwise I think I might have given up today. It is hard trying to figure out what to cook with fast depleting supplies, then coming up with an idea and start getting the ingredients ready, and suddenly realise that if you make this or that you will not make the seven days. So, today I felt quite low, but that might have been nothing to do with my food, but just one of my moods.
